Tow Truck Service in Stockton, CA

Stockton is where the valley's freeways meet. I-5 runs up the west side past the Port and Weston Ranch. Highway 99 cuts through the east side, and the Crosstown Freeway (Highway 4) ties the two together through downtown. Add March Lane, Hammer Lane, Pacific Avenue and Eight Mile Road, and most of the county's traffic passes through here at some point in the day.

We dispatch tow trucks and roadside help across the whole city around the clock. That covers Spanos Park and Brookside in the north, Weston Ranch and the airport district in the south, and the Miracle Mile and downtown in between. Call, say where you are, and you hear the price and an ETA before a truck is sent.

Where Stockton calls come from

The Crosstown is short, but its merges are tight and its shoulders are narrow, so a breakdown there backs things up quickly. Highway 99 between Hammer Lane and Arch Road is stop-and-go at rush hour, and overheated cars stack up on its shoulders in summer. On I-5, the stretch past the Port and the Eight Mile Road interchange carries heavy truck traffic. The warehouses along Arch-Airport Road add more.

Off the freeway, the big shopping areas generate dead batteries and lockouts all year: Weberstown and Sherwood malls on Pacific Avenue and March Lane, Lincoln Center, and the plazas along Hammer Lane. Events at the Stockton Arena and Banner Island Ballpark bring evening calls downtown, along with games and graduations at University of the Pacific.

Fog on I-5, heat on 99

Stockton sits right in the tule fog belt. On winter mornings, visibility on I-5 and 99 can drop to almost nothing, and CHP sometimes paces traffic through the worst of it. If you break down in fog, get as far off the road as you can and stay belted in, because the next driver may not see your hazards until late.

Summer is the opposite problem. Long runs of 100-degree afternoons push cooling systems and batteries to their limits, particularly in slow traffic on 99 and the Crosstown. If your temperature gauge climbs, pull off before it reaches the red. That is often the difference between a tow and an engine replacement.
